Hello, friends, and welcome back to The Sunday Post. Tonight I have some major updates on Avengers: Doomsday and Spider-Man: Brand New Day, a major shake-up at Marvel Comics, plus my official predictions for Marvel’s return to San Diego Comic-Con (just six days from now!).
But first, a quick update on your favorite podcast, where there is a lot going on.

THIS WEEK IN THE MCU
Some #breakingnews tonight, as the Fantastic Four’s family dinner was interrupted for the first time in 75 weeks. You can watch the clip above. In it, halfway through, the screen goes black and you hear Sue Storm’s voice say “How long do we have?” and Reed Richards responds with “Not Long”. Could this have anything to do with…
Avengers: Doomsday tickets go on sale TOMORROW morning, reportedly at 9am ET. First reported by The Hollywood Reporter, tickets will only be available for “Infinity Vision” certified theaters (basically any non-IMAX premium large format). The tentative runtime for the movie is 165 minutes.
Tickets will also go on sale for Avengers: Endgame Encore (also in “Infinity Vision”), and there is a possibility that a trailer might be released for the expanded Infinity Saga finale. Encore is rumored to include a new introduction, bonus scenes, and a new post-credits scene leading directly into Avengers: Doomsday. The new additions will add 7 minutes to the runtime.
After a tease last week, Michael Giacchino, in conjunction with Sony Soundtracks, released the first complete track from Spider-Man: Brand New Day, titled “Suite New Day.”
In a bombshell last Thursday, Marvel Comics announced it was moving its operations to Los Angeles, after 90 years in New York City. They also announced that Stephen Wacker will be taking over the role of editor-in-chief from the outgoing C.B. Cebulski. There is a new, 27-minutes documentary that dropped on Disney+ last week out of nowhere titled Generations: The Evolution of Spider-Man and I highly recommend checking it out. It features behind-the-scenes footage from all three live-action Spider-Man franchises, plus a sneak peek at Brand New Day.
X-Men casting rumors have been swirling all week, and at least one actor, Adam Driver, was rumored to be playing three different parts. Nexus Point News, a reliable source in my book, says the most likely scenario is that Driver is playing anti-Mutant villain William Stryker. NPN also reports that Tramell Tillman will be returning to the role of William Metzger after playing him in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. While is it possible that Kevin Feige announces some of the X-Men cast officially at SDCC, the more likely scenario may be next month at Disney’s D23 Expo in Anaheim.
BEYOND THE MULTIVERSE
The good news? Director Matt Reeves released the above official camera test of Robert Pattinson for The Batman Part II and it looks amazing. The bad news? The movie was delayed again, this time all the way to February 18th, 2028. TRUE BELIEVERS RUMOR OF THE WEEK
Here are my official predictions for Saturday night at 8:30pm ET, when Kevin Feige takes the stage in Hall H to talk about the future of Marvel Studios (in order of confidence):
The first trailer for Avengers: Doomsday will be shown, and finally released to the public.
Many cast members, including Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, and Chris Hemsworth will be on stage. At least one previously unannounced member of the cast will join them on the stage.
Kevin Feige will announce that Avengers: Secret Wars will begin filming in August, and that it will be split into two parts, one in December 2027 and one in May 2028.

X-MEN: THE MESSIAH TRILOGY OMNIBUS
For the first time ever, all three volumes of this Hope Summers-focused trilogy will be available in one book. From acclaimed writers Ed Brubaker and Matt Fraction, “The Messiah Trilogy” tells the story of the first baby born with the X-gene since “M-Day” and features Cyclops, Cable, Bishop, and X-Force.
