The Sunday Post: Long Live the Resistance

Happy Easter, friends, and welcome back to The Sunday Post. I hope your holiday was relaxing and filled with family, friends, and those yummy chocolate bunnies. Here at Friends From Work, we continue to cover the MCU from as many angles as possible. In addition to Robby and Kyle covering last week’s Daredevil episodes, Kyle also listened over on FFW+ and had a great chat with Neil Scharnick about the first season of Jessica Jones. On top of that, there was a new episode of Friends From Football that Kyle released after Kirk Cousins agreed to a new contract with the Las Vegas Raiders (share with the NFL fans in your life). If you’ve been on the fence about a plus membership, this is a great time to take a chance. New bonus episodes are posted nearly every week (recent episodes include editions of Screensaver, Comics Corner, and Kyle, Listen!) , and the back catalog is voluminous. A rare bargain (in this economy?!) for just $8 per month.

Daredevil: Born Again reaches the midpoint of its second season on Tuesday. Trust me- you will want to watch this episode as soon as it debuts at 9pm eastern. Kyle (live from Hell’s Kitchen!) and Robby will have their initial reactions posted as soon as possible after the episode airs, likely Thursday due to Kyle’s travel schedule. Be on the lookout for another new FFW+ episode on Friday.

Before swinging over to The Watercooler, a quick public service announcement: please beware of set photos from season 3 of Born Again that are currently making the rounds on social media and have been picked up by trade outlets like Deadline and entertainment sites like Entertainment Weekly. These images are legit and contain potential spoilers for the remainder of season 2, so I won’t be sharing them here. I would hate for anyone in our community to accidentally be spoiled. Hopefully, you can navigate the next five weeks spoiler-free to preserve some surprises that may be in store for the remainder of season 2.

With that out of the way, time to walk down to…

THIS WEEK IN THE MCU

  • Daredevil: Born Again released two new episodes last week, including a spectacular one-shot action sequence to close episode 3. For more on how they were able to stitch that scene together, check out the breakdown above as well as the Daredevil: Born Again Official Podcast episode covering “The Scales and the Sword”.

  • Our first look at X-Men ‘97 season 2 comes via… an Amazon listing for a poster? Not what I expected, but it does offer a first look at presumably the main cast for season 2. The second season is still on schedule for a summer release.

  • According to a Twitter post from the founder and Editor-in-Chief of Nexus Point News, Marvel Studios has filed a production company called “Fragment Productions LLC”, which will be for Black Panther 3. (Here is a bonus rumor for you: I have heard that the working title of Ryan Coogler’s script is Black Panther: Enemy of the State)

  • As exclusively revealed by Feature First, Kris Bowers will compose the music for May’s special presentation The Punisher: One Last Kill. He previously scored Secret Invasion for Marvel.

BEYOND THE MULTIVERSE

  • James Gunn and DC Studios dropped a new trailer for Supergirl last week, and in my opinion, it was a big step up from the first trailer. The movie is set to release on June 26th. For a full breakdown of the trailer, check out The Sons of Gunn podcast, where Matt and Jaylen go in-depth on all things DCU. The Sons of Gunn is part of the Friends From Work Podcast Network.

TRUE BELIEVERS RUMOR OF THE WEEK

  • A couple of weeks ago, the fourth installment in the Jumanji franchise moved its release date back two weeks from December 11th, 2026 to Christmas Day. That decision leaves the door open for Avengers: Doomsday to shift its release date forward by a week, which reports indicate the studio is now considering. There are several reasons (not the least of which would be the opportunity for a week of IMAX exclusivity before Dune Part Three moves in) that the move could make sense. We’ve now heard rumors that Marvel may shift the movie backwards and forwards, so make of that what you will. Maybe we will learn their final decision next week at CinemaCon 2026 in Las Vegas.

That’s gonna wrap things up for tonight. No Panel Bound Comics pick this week, but that shouldn’t stop you from picking out a new book to read. Code “FRIENDSFROMWORK” will get you an additional discount off their already low prices. Don’t forget to tune in Tuesday for Daredevil: Born Again episode 4 (maybe my favorite cold open of the season), and check out all the new podcasts coming your way from Friends From Work.

Have a great week,

-Greg
