The Sunday Post: Super?
Hello, friends, and welcome to the Super Bowl edition of The Sunday Post. As I mentioned last week, Marvel Studios did not debut a new trailer tonight for Avengers: Doomsday, and Sony opted not to purchase a spot for Spider-Man: Brand New Day either. It all amounted to a fairly uneventful day (and week), at least for fans of the MCU.
Friends From Work, however, rolls on. Last week, Kyle and Robby wrapped up their coverage of Wonder Man and return this Tuesday with their annual “Bold Predictions” episode, always one of the most fun episodes of the year.
Now over to…
THE WATERCOOLER
THIS WEEK IN THE MCU
The biggest news last week was that Josh D’Amaro was officially named the next CEO of the Walt Disney Company after a unanimous vote by the Board of Directors. D’Amaro has limited experience with the film and television side of the business, so concurrently, the Co-Chairman of Disney Entertainment, Dana Walden, was promoted to President and Chief Creative Officer.
What does this mean for the MCU? Right now, probably not very much. Kevin Feige will remain the President of Marvel Studios, and according to a Deadline report, that is not expected to change any time soon. Feige remains focused on Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, as well as ushering in the X-Men era that will follow those movies.
Nexus Point News exclusively revealed the identity of Tramell Tillman’s character in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Tillman will play anti-mutant bureaucrat William Metzger and will reportedly take over as the head of the Department of Damage Control. It is rumored that Tillman has signed a multi-picture deal with Marvel Studios.
The writers and directors for season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again have been revealed. The list includes MCU veterans from Echo (writer Chantelle M. Wells) and Ironheart (director Angela Barnes), in addition to longtime directors Justin Benson & Aaron Moorhead (Moon Knight and Loki).
Episode | Writer(s) | Director(s) |

BEYOND THE MULTIVERSE
Marvel may have been absent from the Super Bowl, but there were still plenty of trailers to enjoy. Check out my favorites:
TRUE BELIEVERS RUMOR OF THE WEEK
Alex Perez from My Cosmic Circus released his latest Q&A with questions from My Cosmic Circus patrons and Discord members, covering all things Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars. It includes the latest on the persistent rumor that Secret Wars could be split into two separate movies. I remain skeptical, but Alex provides the most compelling case yet.
No Panel Bound Comics pick this week, but head over to their website anyway and browse the latest releases and pre-orders. There are some fun omnibuses in the pipeline this year. Use code “FRIENDSFROMWORK” for a discount. After that, head over to our Discord server and let us know your bold predictions for the MCU in 2026.
Have a great week!
