The Sunday Post: We Love You 3000

I want to start today by wishing all of the dads out there a fantastic Father’s Day, including the many dads who are regular contributors to the Friends From Work community that Robby and Kyle have cultivated over the last six years. Celebrate today and enjoy it.

If you’re a very last-minute shopper, and looking for the perfect gift for the Marvel-loving Dad in your life, look no further that this all-new Friends From Work t-shirt, available now. Order it today, and get it it before The Fantastic Four: First Steps is released in theaters next month! Speaking of the Fantastic Four, Kyle and Robby’s rewatch journey begins TOMORROW on FFW+ with their review of 2005’s Fantastic Four.

The guys are also hard at work on a follow-up to their Infinity Saga rankings episode with an episode ranking all the films from the Multiverse Saga. Look for that on the main podcast feed in the very near future. And in case you missed it, Robby and I released the second of our series of articles discussing the Part V Watch Order last week. Check it out.

Last week was a light news week, but business is about to pick up with Ironheart now less than 10 days away. Screeners go out to critics tomorrow and the social media embargo lifts on June 23rd at 10:30 pm ET. For more on Ironheart let’s head over to…

THE WATERCOOLER

THIS WEEK IN THE MCU

  • Marvel released the second trailer for Ironheart last week and has really begun ramping up the marketing for the show, with daily teasers and a brand-new episode of Marvel Legends about Riri Williams that is exclusively on YouTube.

  • In addition to the new trailer, Marvel released the first behind-the-scenes featurette for the show, reacquainting viewers with Dominique Thorne’s Riri Williams.

  • Multiple media outlets were invited to the set of The Fantastic Four: First Steps last September, and with the movie less than six weeks away, they are finally able to talk about it. Read more about it from Collider here and Fandango here.

BEYOND THE MULTIVERSE

  • Tickets for the new Superman movie went on sale last week, and DC Studios marked the occasion by releasing a new trailer. Amazon Prime Early Access screenings for the movie (July 8th, three days before wide release) marked the best first day ticket sales for any movie in 2025, according to Fandango.

TRUE BELIEVERS RUMOR OF THE WEEK

  • If you like reading rumor reports, there are few more reliable sources than Alex Perez, from My Cosmic Circus. He’s not afraid to say when he doesn’t know something, and he is also willing to admit when something changes or he gets something wrong. Every month, he does a Q&A with members of the My Cosmic Circus Discord server, and I’d recommend checking out part one of his June Q&A if that is your thing. He has several intriguing updates about Avengers: Doomsday.

If you haven’t already, make sure to join the Friends From Work Discord channel where we are constantly talking about all things Marvel (and beyond). Then join me back here next week for another edition of The Sunday Post where we’ll set the stage for Ironheart’s premiere.
